A bill re-establishing "Evergreen clauses" under Chapter 150E for public employees was signed into law on Tuesday. The bill was a top priority for the Mass. AFL-CIO this session, and was made necessary by a misguided decision by the state Supreme Judicial Court that committed an overly literal interpretation of Chapter 150E denying the legality of evergreen clauses in public employee contracts.
